Smart School Councils and Big Debate Club in Action at Vale of Evesham

Intro To The School

Since joining the Smart School Councils programme in September 2021, the Vale of Evesham School have embraced a culture of inclusivity and engagement. Led by their fantastic Lead Teacher Maria, Head Teacher Tina, and dedicated teachers Karen and Laura, their school vibrant hub of discussion and debate with the help of Smart School Councils and Big Debate Club.

Last summer, our Co-Founder, Greg, paid a visit to the school, observing first-hand the incredible work being done by the staff and students alike.

How They Use the Programme

At Vale of Evesham, they integrate their Smart School Councils activities seamlessly into their weekly curriculum, with a focus on both class meetings - quick, pupil-led meetings across the school using the Smart School Council platform -  and Big Debate Club - short, guided debates helping pupils build better speaking skills. Through these sessions, students explore diverse topics and engage in meaningful dialogue, fostering a sense of community and empowerment.
